Transcript from the video: this is by far the best shallowing drill ever the results that I have got with this for myself with my students well you can't argue with that draw stage one shallowing the golf club is something that we see all the top players do they all tend to have maybe different positions at the top from Matt wolf to Brooks keper to Dustin Johnson to Rory maroy but they all seem to get that perfect down swing position where the club Works in here now for us normal golfers we find that really hard to do now you don't need this alignment stick with my head cover on but it just helps me explain and this is how I did it with all my students so I said to them right okay imagine the ball is teed up at that height the feelings you get from this run re imagine the gold ball is teed up at that height okay and I said to them don't worry about being over the gold ball that's in stage two but let's just feel that we address the gold ball up here now straight away they made the back swing fine but their down swing now worked behind them more out towards it okay repeat that again they made this move in the down swing now I'm speaking from golfers who would constantly stand there and do this so the sensation and listen to the words right the sensations they said they got is that they were Imagining the golf club head was going down their back was almost touching the middle of their back so it was like touching the middle of their back now in reality it was no way near it just felt like the club head was behind them for longer so I said what great let's just do that really slowly to begin with really slowly to begin with really slowly and I said okay wonder if you went a couple of miles an hour faster for me well straight away they went like this okay well look again where that golf club is working it's more behind me for longer it's shallower isn't it so that was stage one and the repeat of success of that was so so good because they'd never accessed that feeling before so something to make a mental note as you try stage one before we moveing stage two is they felt as though the club was going down their back now in stage two we have to sort out this club face because not everybody gets this
right now for some people that was enough that was their swing thoughts but I would say for 95% it wasn't 95% of golfers and this is why I invented stage two of this drill they left the golf club face open so when they did stage one they stood here and their face was pointing up towards the sky you can see there's some player camp and that was just sort of the natural move they made whereas what I want them to achieve when they're sort of feeling this and I want you to achieve is the club face pointing to Target now the little trick that I said to them is Imagine as you're starting down as that sensation of your Club running down your back you're trying to get the toe of the club to overtake the heel now in reality it wasn't happening but these are the moves these are the feelings and I watched a famous video of Tiger Woods but charman back in the days of the '90s and he was talking about tiger saying feel and real and this is forgotten we all too technical just feel these things so we then said okay let's do that drill and feel as though as you get it going down your back get the toe to work over the heel straight away this get them to move the wrist differently this got them to release the club so I said go on have three or four more reps feeling that at this height and and that was stage two boxed off moving into stage three and this is like a little bit of a jigsaw can you see how I'm piecing all these together for you now you might be wondering Alex how do you get all the ideas to this channel well it's simple we're powered by you the sole goal of this channel is to provide simple golf tips to Everyday golfers and we're powered by you the viewers So today we're answering this question but if you want to get involved subscribe turn the Bell just pop your comment or query down down below so stage three this is where it all comes together we've now got to take that sensation down to the ground so what I said then is well you've done it there let's make some practice swings halfway so we stood here made some practice swings halfway so we're getting more tilted over and all that relationship is really is from the hips we're more tilted but as we tilt over it gets a little harder so go halfway make three four five maybe six even upwards to 10 practice swings whatever it takes to you and then if you need another stage go a little bit lower again that's fine do what you've got to do to help you and that's what I say to all my students so as you come down to the golf ball you can bring in the sensations all the way from the start of this jigsaw to the end of I felt the club ring down my back and the toe overtaking the
heel look at that draw beautiful drawer and that was just all the pieces of the jigsaw coming together did enjoy this video don't forget subscribe and turn the Bell
